VILLAGE OF EXETER MINUTES MARCH 13, 2024 EMERGENCY MEETING The emergency meeting of the Exeter Village Board was convened in open and public session on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at 6:00 pm at the Exeter Village Office. Notice of the meeting was given by posting 37 hours prior at the Exeter Village Office, Post Office, and Generations Bank. Chairperson Alan Michl called the meeting to order. Board members present upon roll call were: Alan Michl, Justin Harre, Bob Mueller and Kim Gloystein. Jim Anderson was absent. Clerk Becky Erdkamp recorded the minutes. Chairperson Michl noted that a copy of the Nebraska Open Meetings Act is available in the Village Office for public inspection and review. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss repairs at the sewer lift station. Maintenance Supervisor John Mueller explained that one of the pumps has failed and the other is leaking and barely keeping up. The pumps were first installed in the 1980s. Electric Pump of Omaha, Nebraska has been out to inspect the system. The estimate given to replace both submersible pumps, piping and accessories is $63,700.00. The estimate given to replace the control panel and accessories is $26,250.00. The estimate given to replace the alarm dialer unit is $4,600.00. An estimate to replace the grinder is expected to be around $50,000.00. The grinder is still working at this time but will need to be replaced soon. Clerk Erdkamp notified the board that the village has a sewer use fund certificate of deposit with a value of $181,015.31 that matures on May 21, 2024. Mueller moved and Harre seconded the motion to approve the estimates for the pumps, control panel and alarm dialer unit and use the sewer use CD to pay for the repairs.
