VILLAGE OF EXETER MINUTES JANUARY 10, 2024 The regular meeting of the Exeter Village Board was convened in open and public session on Wednesday January 10, 2024 at 7:00 pm at the Exeter Village Office. Notice of the meeting was given by posting 10 days prior at the Exeter Village Office, Post Office, and Generations Bank. Chairperson Alan Michl called the meeting to order. Board members present upon roll call were: Alan Michl, Justin Harre, Bob Mueller and Kim Gloystein. Jim Anderson was absent. Clerk Becky Erdkamp recorded the minutes. Chairperson Michl noted that a copy of the Nebraska Open Meetings Act is available in the Village Office for public inspection and review. Minutes from the previous meeting were reviewed and approved without correction. An accounts payable listing was presented for approval. Mueller moved and Harre seconded the motion to approve invoices as presented. All present voted aye. John Mueller was instructed to talk to Viking Industrial Painting and JEO Consulting Group about installing an antenna on the water tower. UTV estimates from The Offroad Company in Columbus, Nebraska were reviewed. The government rate for a 2023 Artic Cat 800 Prowler Pro was estimated at $26,164.00. The government rate for a 2024 Polaris 1000 Ranger was estimated at $23,631.00. Discussion was held on options for both UTVs. Mueller moved and Gloystein seconded the motion to purchase the Polaris Ranger for $23,631.00. All present voted aye. The old UTV will be sold once the new one arrives. No Marshal’s Report was presented. Semi-truck parking was briefly discussed. John Mueller presented the Maintenance Report. New front tires are needed for the motor grader. The estimate is $1,500.00. John will be getting estimates for a 3-phase generator for the wells to be used when the water tower is down during the painting project. Becky Erdkamp presented the Clerk’s Report. Several water/sewer accounts are habitually past due. The board instructed staff to shut off services after the next notices are sent. Rescue Unit fundraising is currently at $68,140.47. Sales tax receipts for October 2023 were $14,451.17. Keno receipts for November 2023 were $265.97. Clerk Erdkamp will be attending the League of Nebraska Municipalities Mid-Winter Conference on February 26 and 27 to obtain education hours for the State Auditor. Alan Michl will be attending also. Other board members were asked to notify Clerk Erdkamp if they wish to attend. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 7th at 7:00 pm. The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 pm.Becky S.
