EXETER-MILLIGAN PUBLIC SCHOOL SPECIAL JOINT BOARD MEETING WITH FRIEND PUBLIC SCHOOLS EXETER SITE GYM MONDAY, MARCH 4, 2024 7:00 PM President Erdkamp declared the special joint meeting open at 7:00 pm. Those present were A. Erdkamp, D. Kallhoff, K. Jansky, R. Johnson, E. Milton, P. Jurgensen, and Superintendent Sheffield. There were 85 visitors plus the Friend School Board and Superintendent Anderson present. The Nebraska Open Meetings Act was posted. Motion by Milton and seconded by Jansky to verify that this meeting of the School Board of Exeter- Milligan Public Schools was duly advertised and that all board members were notified as to the time and place of the meeting pursuant to board policy and practice. Motion carried 6-0. Superintendents Sheffield and Andersen shared an EMF consolidation proposal. The goals for the evening were shared with the main goal being the sharing of information about the possible consolidation. The presentation and accompanying information is available on the school website. If approved, the proposal would go into effect in the 2025-26 school year. The timeline of upcoming meetings was shared with the vote occurring at the April 2024 meeting. The consolidation questions posed from the previous meetings on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, Tuesday, January 23, 2024, and Tuesday, February 27, 2024 were answered. Those questions and answers are also available on the school website. Public comment was accepted with three people addressing the boards.
