VILLAGE OF EXETER MINUTES June 7, 2022 The regular meeting of the Exeter Village Board was convened in open and public session on Tuesday June 7, 2022, at 7:00 pm at the Exeter Village Office. Notice of the meeting was given by posting 10 days prior at the Exeter Village Office, Post Office, and Generations Bank. Chairperson Alan Michl called the meeting to order. Board members present upon roll call were: Alan Michl, Jim Anderson, Bob Mueller and Kim Gloystein. Justin Harre was absent. Clerk Becky Erdkamp recorded the minutes. Chairperson Michl noted that a copy of the Nebraska Open Meetings Act is available in the Village Office for public inspection and review. Visitors present included: Leesa Bartu and Rhonda Stokebrand. Minutes from the previous meeting were reviewed and approved without correction. An accounts payable listing was presented for approval. Anderson moved and Gloystein seconded the motion to approve invoices as presented. All present voted aye. Mueller moved and Anderson seconded the motion to approve Ordinance No. 599 to annex the Farmers Cooperative North Fertilizer Plant. All present voted aye. A full copy of Ordinance No. 599 is attached to the minutes. An Agreement Between Owner and Engineer for Professional Services from JEO Consulting Group was presented and reviewed for the Exeter South Depot Street Improvements. Discussion was help on the scope of the project. Michl moved and Anderson seconded the motion to approve the agreement. All present voted aye. Exeter Days will be held on Friday July 29th and Saturday July 30th. The Sons of the Legion have requested that Main Street be blocked off from Tecumseh to Seneca for the evening July 30th for the street dance. The Legion will be providing the liquor license. The Village Board approved the request for street closing on July 30th. Inspection Reports issued by Christopher Sukstorf of the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy for the senior center and swimming pool were reviewed. After 25 years NDEE is now requiring the senior center install an air gap on the three compartment kitchen sink. Discussion was held. The pool managers are working with John Mueller to correct minor issues at the swimming pool. No Marshal’s Report was provided. No Maintenance Report was provided. Michl noted that the motor grader has been repaired. Becky Erdkamp presented the Clerk’s Report. Sales tax for March was $11,389.31. Keno receipts for April were $273.06. HBE of Lincoln is finishing the audit for fiscal year 2020-2021. They will present the audit report at the next board meeting. Erdkamp noted that a citizen has notified the office that the dumpster by the pool blew into the street on Memorial Day as he was backing out of his driveway and caused damage to their truck. He did not call police or fill out an accident report when it happened. Clerk Erdkamp has notified EMC Insurance of a possible claim. Erdkamp will be speaking to the Fillmore County Odegeo class on June 15th regarding local government. Senator Tom Brandt will speak about state government. Erdkamp has been asked by the League of Municipalities to be on the Accounting and Finance Committee for the educational conference. The Exeter Milligan FCCLA is requesting support to hold a 5K Fun Run/Walk for Cancer Awareness on July 24th. Anderson moved and Gloystein seconded the motion to approve a $100.00 donation from the Community Betterment Keno funds. All present voted aye. Michl noted that estimates are being sought for an addition of bays to the fire hall. Grants and ARPA money will be sought for this project if it becomes feasible. The next meeting will be held on July 6th at 7:00 pm. The meeting adjourned at 8:00 pm. Becky S.
