FRIEND CITY COUNCIL MINUTES-REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 6, 2024 Mayor Knoke called the regular meeting of the City Council to order at 7:00 p.m. Council members present: Phyllis Schwab, David Sladek, Kristen Milton, &Jeremy Collier Mayor Knoke led the meeting in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. As required by the Nebraska Open Meetings Act, Mayor Knoke announced that a copy of the Nebraska Open Meetings Act has been posted on the south door of the City Hall meeting room. Motions were made, seconded, and passed unanimously for the following: to approve the minutes- from January 2nd, 2024, regular meeting to approve the January 2024 Treasurer report. to approve the claims and payroll to approve the Hospital financials. to waive the three readings. to approve the CRA report and allow the Mayor to sign the report. to approve the TIF report and allow the Mayor to sign the report. to approve Ordinance 24-806. to approve Res 24-01. to approve the Special Designated License for the Ford Banka American Legion Post #183. - to approve the Mayor to sign the documents sent by SENDD. -to adjourn. Potential Street Superintendent - Representative from JEO, Miller & Associates, and Oak creek Engineering were present to answer questions about their respective firms. No action taken. Jim Ryan CRA – Jim gave the year end report for the Community Redevelopment Authority. Mayor Knoke left at 7:50 pm President Milton took over the meeting. Police report – Chief Shawn Gray gave his report. Fire Department – Chief Brent Milton gave an update on the progress of a new Firehall. Hospital – Jared Chaffin & Dr. Dodge reported on the status of the hospital. Getting close to being granted the REH designation. President Milton introduced and read Ordinance 24 -805 First of three readings ORDINANCE NO. 24-805 AN ORDINANCE TO GRANT A VARIANCE TO THE ZONING REGULATIONS WITH REGARD TO FRIEND CITY, NORTH 45’ OF LOT 191 & ALL LOT 192, IDENTIFIED AS PARCEL #760028885, IN THE CITY OF FRIEND, NEBRASKA; AND TO PROVIDE FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. No action taken. President Milton introduced and read Ordinance 24-806 First of three readings ORDINANCE NO. 24-806 AN ORDINANCE REGARDING A CHANGE IN BOUNDARY LINE FOR THE PROPERTIES LOCATED IN A MINOR PLAT OF LOTS 1, 3, AND 4, BLOCK 2 MILTON BROTHERS ADDITION, LOCATED IN THE SOUTHEAST ¼ OF SECTION 28 T8N R1E OF THE 6TH P.M., CITY OF FRIEND, SALINE COUNTY, NEBRASKA; AND TO PROVIDE FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
