EXETER-MILLIGAN PUBLIC SCHOOLS SPECIAL SCHOOL BOARD MEETING EXETER SITE COMMUNITY CLASSROOM TUESDAY, AUGUST 29, 2023 5:30 PM. President Erdkamp declared the special meeting open at 5:30 pm. Also present were E. Milton, D. Kallhoff, K. Jansky, P. Jurgensen, and Superintendent Sheffield. There were no visitors present. The Nebraska Open Meetings Act was posted Motion by K. Jansky and 2nd by E. Milton to verify that the meeting of the School Board of Exeter-Milligan Public School was duly advertised, and all Board members were notified as to the time and place of the meeting pursuant to Board policy and practice. Motion carried 5-0. Superintendent Sheffield shared the preliminary budget with the board. The information will be published and a presentation will be given at the budget hearing on Wed, Sept 13. The tax asking will remain the same while the overall levy will be lower than last year. Motion by the negotiations committee and 2nd K. Jansky to approve the 2023-24 and 2024-25 Superintendent contract as presented. Motion carried 5-0. Discussion was held pertaining to the board member position vacated by Allen Vavra. Four applications were received: Issac Rolfs, Megan Johnson, Rachel Johnson, and Eric Johnson. Motion by Paul Jurgensen and 2nd by K. Jansky to appoint Rachel Johnson to vacant position.
