EXETER-MILLIGAN PUBLIC SCHOOL REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 7:00 PM. Exeter Site Community Classroom President Erdkamp declared the regular meeting open at 7:00 PM. Those present were A. Erdkamp, D. Kallhoff, K. Jansky, R. Johnson, E. Milton and P. Jurgensen as well as Principal Kroll. There were twelve visitors present. The Nebraska Open Meetings Act was posted. Motion by K. Jansky and 2nd by E. Milton to verify that the School Board of Exeter-Milligan Public School meeting was duly advertised, and all Board members were notified as to the time and place of meeting pursuant to Board policy and practice. Motion carried 6-0. Motion by D. Kallhoff and 2nd by E. Milton to approve the consensus agenda consisting of the Treasurer’s report, the minutes of the regular monthly meeting on October 10, 2023, and the November expenditures. Motion carried 6-0. During the curriculum report, Brian Murphy and Jordan Marr presented about the social studies program, curriculum, and requirements pertaining to LB 399. Policy review - 5055 Bullying. The administration shared area school bullying policies for comparison which were very similar to E-M’s. Board members can submit to administration any changes they would like to make to this policy or any others. It was pointed out that the board approves the student handbook before the start of every school year. No one shared during the public comment time. The final petition for reorganization with Friend and timeline shared last month was discussed. The petition has been submitted to KSB School Law for a legal review. The superintendent evaluation will be distributed electronically with the goal of having the evaluation completed before the December board meeting. The elementary/gym HVAC project low-interest financing was approved. One item to discuss pertains to either replacing or patching the roof. The building and grounds committee will meet again to discuss options. The negotiations committee has met with the teacher committee twice and is close to an agreement. There will be an update at the December meeting. Information and discussion items included: The NASB State Conference is scheduled for November 15-17 in Omaha. E-M has been selected for an OCR review of CTE classes. The new door access system project is complete The next regular meeting will be Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 7 PM in Milligan. Motion by D.
