A Cardinal Academies Open House was held on Wednesday, March 27 at the Welcome Center for business partners in the Crete community. The informal gathering provided business leaders with an overview of Crete High School’s Academies.
One of the major components of the academy program is community engagement. As students move through the four year academy program of the pathway they have identified to explore, they will be partnered with local employers, the community and colleges. These professionals will bring resources from outside the high school to give students a unique opportunity to better understand a career they are considering prior to leaving high school.
Each graduating student will do a cross curricular capstone project their senior year that includes an experience with a business, which may include an internship. Crete High School is seeking businesses to be guest speakers, offer tours and for local colleges to offer college visits as part of the partnership.
