Karen Sue Gentry, of Beaver Crossing, passed away Oct. 6, 2022, in Lincoln at the age of 78. Karen was born Sept. 27, 1944, in Beaver Crossing, to Charles and Ruth (Hickerson) Gentry. To this union, six children were born – Evelyn, Richard, Charles, Robert, Jeanine and Karen.
Karen graduated from high school in 1962, where she played the flute in the marching band. She married Robert Anderson on Oct. 26, 1963. Karen married Daniel Fuss, Jr., on Aug. 1, 1974.
Karen loved being a homemaker, providing for her family. She enjoyed spending as much time as she could with them. She was a Camp Fire mom, Sunday School and Bible study teacher. She had worked at the Department of Motor Vehicles and Matrix Idleman Electric Company in Lincoln.
Karen is survived by her children, Jennifer Sue (Fuss) and husband Kevin Kaufman of Milford, Iowa, Julie (Fuss) and Kenneth Alber, Lincoln, Alicia (Fuss) Day, Omaha, and Carly (Fuss) and husband, Mark Nichols, Lincoln; grandchildren, Kristian and Kelly Kaufman, Jonah and Jacob Albers, Kaitlyn Bowen, Jack and Lucas Day, Charly Kasten, Emerson and Lillian Nichols. She is also survived by a sister, Evelyn Blasky, Lincoln; nephew, Kevin and his wife, Alice Brown, Salina, Kansas; nieces, Sherri and husband, Bruce Turnbough, Kansas City, Missouri, Joni Noon, Tucson, Arizona, Linda and nephew-in-law, Paul Cassity, Tucson; as well as other relatives and friends.
Karen is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ruth; brothers, Richard, Charles and Robert; sister, Jeanene; nephews, Michael Brown, David Gentry, Charles (Chuck) Gentry III; and ex-husband, Daniel Fuss, Jr.
The funeral service is at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, at Lauber Funeral and Cremation Services in Milford. Interment will be at the Beaver Crossing Cemetery. Pallbearers are Kristian Kaufman, Kelly Kaufman, Jonah Albers, Jacob Albers, Jack Day and Lucas Day. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family for later designation.
