EXETER-MILLIGAN PUBLIC SCHOOL REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2024 COMMUNITY CLASSROOM IN EXETER President Erdkamp declared the regular meeting open at 7:00 PM. Those present were A. Erdkamp, D. Kallhoff, P. Jurgensen, E. Milton, and R. Johnson as well as Superintendent Sheffield. Board member K. Jansky was absent. Five visitors were present. The Nebraska Open Meetings Act was posted. Motion by E. Milton and 2nd by P. Jurgensen to verify that the School Board of Exeter-Milligan Public School meeting was duly advertised, and all Board members were notified as to the time and place of meeting pursuant to Board policy and practice. Motion carried 5-0. Motion by R. Johnson and 2nd by E. Milton to approve the consensus agenda consisting of the Treasurer’s report, the regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, and the November expenditures. Motion carried 5-0. Jordan Marr and Brian Murphy shared information about the LB399 report. No one shared during the public comment time. The State Committee for the Reorganization of School Districts approved the petition for reorganization and the appointment of initial school board members for the newly created Exeter-Milligan-Friend School district. An area committee meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 19, to discuss the next steps in the process. The board negotiations committee met with the teacher association committee. More meetings are scheduled to move the process forward. The separation incentive program offer has sunset. The board discussed options and will work on having a possible policy update for the December meeting. The EMF Elementary remodel project plans have been submitted to the state fire marshall. The softball coop with Fillmore Central expires and needs to be renewed for the 25-26 and 26-27 seasons. A letter expressing the desire to renew the coop was sent to the Fillmore Central superintendent and school board. The Fillmore Central board has yet to take action on the renewal. Motion by E. Milton and 2nd by R. Johnson to renew the softball coop with Fillmore Central and Friend for the 25 and 26 seasons. Motion carried 5-0. Motion by D. Kallhoff and 2nd by P. Jurgensen to excuse the absence of board member K. Jansky. Motion carried 5-0. The Rule 10 external visit for accreditation scheduled for Wednesday, November 13, was postponed due to a health issue with the team leader. The administration will share the rescheduled date when it is available. Board members A. Erdkamp, K. Jansky, and E. Milton, as well as Superintendent Sheffield, plan to attend the NASB State Conference in Omaha on November 21 and 22. The unofficial board member election results: R. Johnson and E. Milton were re-elected; Eric Johnson was elected. The next regular meeting will be Wednesday, December 11 at 7 PM in Milligan. Claims Paid Motion by D. Kallhoff and 2nd by E.
