EXETER-MILLIGAN PUBLIC SCHOOL REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 12, AT 7:00 PM MILLIGAN SITE LIBRARY President Erdkamp declared the regular meeting open at 7:00 PM. Those present were A. Erdkamp, K. Jansky, E. Johnson, R. Johnson, D. Kallhoff, E. Milton, and Principal Kroll. There were no visitors present. The Nebraska Open Meetings Act was posted. Motion by K. Jansky and 2nd R. Johnson by to verify that the School Board of Exeter-Milligan Public School meeting was duly advertised, and all Board members were notified as to the time and place of meeting pursuant to Board policy and practice. Motion carried 6-0. Motion by E. Milton and 2nd by E. Johnson to approve the consensus agenda consisting of the Treasurer’s report, the minutes of the regular monthly meeting on January 8, 2025, and the February expenditures. Motion carried 6-0. No one shared during the public comment time. The EM and F area committees met to discuss items related to the upcoming consolidation. The meal program is a central area of concern. The committees will meet on Monday, February 24, to continue consolidation discussions. The negotiations committee will meet soon to discuss the 2025-26 principal contract. Information is needed from Superintendent Sheffield to help with the negotiation process. The updated tentative 25-26 school calendar was shared. Board members are encouraged to share their insights, thoughts, etc, with Superintendent Sheffield or Superintendent Anderson. The negotiations committee shared an update. The committee believes they are close to a settlement and hope to be finalized for a vote at the March meeting. The low bidder for the remodel project was Genesis Construction. The recommendation from the architects is to approve their bid. Once the bid is approved, Genesis can start the paperwork and hope to begin construction the 1st week of March. The timeline for the project is below. Mid-February – Sign Owner-Contractor Agreement. Mar 3, 2025 – Start construction in Phase 1 areas (Old Gym into Music & Library & Old Fitness Room into Kindergarten Classrooms). April 25, 2025 – Start Phase 2 (Old Music Room into 2nd Grade Classrooms). June 3, 2025 – Start Phase 3 (Old Shop into Community Building). Aug 1, 2025 – Substantial Completion Phases 1 and 2. Oct 1, 2025 – Substantial Completion Phase 3. Motion by E. Milton and 2nd by K. Janksy to approve the separation incentive program application for Phyllis Severson. Motion carried 6-0. Morion by E. Milton and 2nd by D. Kallhoff to approve the teaching contract of Simone Marget. Motion carried 6-0. The next regular meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 7:00 PM in Exeter. Motion by D. Kallhoff and 2nd by E. Johnson to adjourn the meeting at 7:37 PM.
