EXETER-MILLIGAN PUBLIC SCHOOL REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING TUESDAY, OCTOBER 8, 2024 AT 8:00 PM MILLIGAN SITE LIBRARY President Erdkamp declared the regular meeting open at 8:00 PM. Those present were A. Erdkamp, D. Kallhoff, K. Jansky, and R. Johnson as well as Superintendent Sheffield and Principal Kroll. Board member P. Jurgensen was absent. Board member E. Milton arrived at 8:07 PM. Two visitors were present. The Nebraska Open Meetings Act was posted. Motion by K. Jansky and 2nd by D. Kallhoff to verify that the School Board of Exeter-Milligan Public School meeting was duly advertised, and all Board members were notified as to the time and place of meeting pursuant to Board policy and practice. Motion carried 4-0. Motion by R. Johnson and 2nd by K. Jansky to approve the consensus agenda consisting of the Treasurer’s report, the minutes of the budget hearing, the levy request hearing, the regular monthly meeting on September 11, 2024, and the October expenditures. Motion carried 4-0. There were no curriculum report or policy reviews. No one shared during the public comment time. The petition for reorganization and accompanying information has been sent to NDE. We are waiting to hear when the hearing before the State Reorganization Committee is scheduled. The separation incentive program offer has sunset. The board will need to make a decision soon to offer it again. This will be an agenda item for November. The softball coop with Fillmore Central expires and needs to be renewed for the 25-26 and 26-27 seasons. A letter expressing the desire to renew the coop was sent to the Fillmore Central superintendent and school board. The Rule 10 external visit for accreditation is scheduled for Wednesday, November 13. The final report will be given that afternoon at 3:30 PM, and board members are encouraged to attend. Motion by R. Johnson and 2nd by D. Kallhoff to excuse the absence of board member P. Jurgensen. Motion carried 5-0. Board members Erdkamp, Jansky, and Milton, as well as superintendent Sheffield, plan to attend the NASB State Conference on November 21 and 22 in Omaha. The next regular meeting will be Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at 7 PM in Exeter. Motion by D. Kallhoff and 2nd by E. Milton to adjourn the meeting at 8:12 PM. Motion Carried 5-0.
