The Exeter-Milligan Friend girls got off to a good start against Lourdes Jan. 3 but couldn’t keep the offensive momentum, falling to the Knights 52-31.
EMF led 14-10 after the first quarter but scored just 17 points the rest of the game. Coach Sara Pella said turnovers led to points for the Knights.
“In the fourth quarter, we lost our sense of urgency,” Pella said. “They pressured us all game, but it was not their pressure that caused turnovers.”
The Bobcats committed 36 turnovers in the game.
Aniston Meints led the EMF offense with 10 points, and Reese Tuttle grabbed 11 rebounds. Meints and Kiley Oldehoeft had eight boards each. Oldehoeft also scored eight points.
Up next for EMF (6-4) was a trip to Tri County (6-3) Jan. 7 and a visit from Southern (1-8) Thursday, Jan. 9, at 6 p.m.
