Duane Schmidt of Western is celebrating his 85th birthday today.
He was born Nov. 22, 1938, in Fairbury.
His family members include his wife, Vicki (Nickel) Schmidt; daughter, Lori Niederklein; son, Mark Schmidt; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
