Gaven Shernikau applies some water to ribs he was cooking in preparation for the Rib Fest during Beaver Daze Aug. 14 in Beaver Crossing. He is involved with Jeff Schoepf in S & S BBQ of Beaver Crossing. They won third place in the competition with nine entrants. Second place went to Chris Butzke of Butzke Barbecue and the winner was David Burkey of Duddles Barbecue, all of Beaver Crossing.
