Carol Ann White was born Aug. 17, 1956, in Friend, the second of six children born to Homer W. and Genive V (Steider) Smetter, and passed away Aug. 27, 2003, in Friend at the age of 67 years and 10 days.

As a young girl, she attended Beaver Crossing Public School and graduated with the class of 1974 from Centennial High School. She then went to work for Russell Stovers, Verna’s Café and later at Crestview Care Center. She united in marriage to Kenny White in 1976. Between the two of them, four children were born – Wendy, Eric, Nathan and Brent. She loved to keep up with her kids and grandchildren. She loved the Nebraska Cornhuskers and watched every chance she had ane she also loved to fish. Her kids and grandkids were the love of her life. If she ever felt down, she would just think of her kids and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Kenny White, Beaver Crossing; children and spouse, Wendy White, Seward, Eric White, Nathan White and Brent (Holly) White, all of Beaver Crossing; a brother, Ronnie (Jan) Smetter of Lincoln; four sisters and spouses, which there are two sets of twin sisters, Judy (John) Kunert, Tracy Payne, all of Beaver Crossing, Terry Schmailzl and special friend, Rob Fredrick, of Lincoln; two great-granddaughters; six grandchildren with two sets of twins, Alexa Schwartz of Kearney, Alex Preslicka of Bradshaw, Miranda Elznic of Seward, Madison Elznic of York, Jarret and Jagger White, both of Beaver Crossing, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her father, Homer, in 1999; her mother, Genive, in 2006; sister, Janet Smetter in 2020; mother and father-in-law, Clarence and Bunny (Verna) White; grandparents, Bill and Carrie Smetter, Vernon and Dorothy Dickey and Elmer Steider; brother-in-law, Lonnie Miller in 2018; granddaughter, Skylar Elznic in 1999; and several aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be Wednesday Aug. 30, from 5 – 8 p.m. at the Lauber Funeral Home in Friend. The family will meet and greet friends and relatives from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. A graveside service will be Thursday, Aug. 31, at 9 a.m. at the Beaver Crossing Cemetery.
