Bobcats split squad between Cross County, McCool Junction

The Exeter-Milligan/Friend track and field team split up its team to attend two different meets on May 2, one at Cross County and another at McCool Junction.

At Cross County, the boys’ team took fourth place and the girls finished fifth.

For the boys, Breckan Schlueter was the lone event champion, winning the 100m dash in 11.86 seconds. He also placed second in the long jump at 18-7.5.

Tyler Due was second in the pole vault at 10-0, A.J. Mueller finished second in the 400m dash in 54.07 seconds and also finished fourth in the 800m run in 2:13.6 and the 4X800m relay team of Mueller, Keltyn Kirchhoff, Mason Vossler and Jacob Weber placed second in 9:10.5.

For the girls, the 4X800m relay team of Malorie Lawver, Sophie Weber, Selah Peterson and Savana Krupicka won the race with a time of 11:06.88. Krupicka also placed third in the long jump at 15-8.75 and third in the triple jump at 34-5.5.

Aniston Meints placed third in the 300m hurdles in 53.21 seconds and was sixth in the high jump at 4-4.

At McCool Junction, both the boys’ and girls’ teams finished fourth.

For the boys, Avery Nichols won the high jump at 5-2, Spencer Eberspacher finished second in the discus at 125-0 and Mason Semler placed third in the shot put at 36-9.

For the girls, Reagan Bartley and Kyler Sladek finished third and fourth in the pole vault at 6-6 and 6-0, respectively. Brooklyn Oldehoeft placed fifth in the discus at 83-7.5 and Ella Archer took fifth in the shot put at 29-6.

EMF is scheduled to compete at Sandy Creek for its district meet on Thursday, May 9.
