This is a synopsis of the Saline County Board of Commissioners’ September 28, 2021, regular meeting proceedings. A complete set of the proceedings along with an approved list of claims is on file in the Board of Commissioners’ Journal, is of public record in the Saline County Clerk’s office and on our website: www.co.saline.ne.us SALINE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS The regular meeting of the Saline County Board of Commissioners was called to order at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, by Chairperson Russ Karpisek. Present were Karpisek, Phil Hardenburger, Marvin A. Kohout, and Stephanie A. Krivohlavek Commissioners, County Clerk Anita K. Bartels. County Attorney Tad Eickman was present between court commitments. Commissioner Janet J. Henning was absent. Notice of said meeting was posted in the County Clerk’s Office, on the Saline County Website, and published in all three county newspapers on September 22, 2021, in compliance with State Statutes; Let the record show that all proceedings are electronically recorded; Karpisek advised those present of the open meetings act at the back of the room; Approved the Agenda as presented; Approved the minutes of the September 14, 2021, regular meeting; Under Correspondence heard reports of receiving a notice from NPERS, with Clint Holmes retirement, Alija Ibrahimipasic will be his replacement; from the City of Crete the agenda for the September 27th Planning Commission meeting; a notice from Janet Jeffries that the Tourism Grant Applications are now available; a bulletin from SENDD advising their Lincoln Office is now located at 7407 O Street; an email from NEOGOV stating the modernization of Human Resources may be covered with ARPA money; a letter from Nebraska Public Power District regarding tree and vegetation removal from the Summit Cemetery; and information from Prochaska & Associates Engineering & Interior Design; Under Report of Officials heard reports of attending the new Crete Library Open House, a building progress meeting for the tuck pointing; a Seward/Saline County Solid Waste Management meeting; Husker Harvest Days; a meeting for possible funding via Aging Services for the Latino community; upcoming AED/CPR training, NIRMA Self-Defense meeting and a NACO meeting; A discussion was held regarding payments for cemetery mowing. Each spring a letter will be sent to the current individuals on the mowing list to determine and confirm who is doing the mowing; The Probation Office addressed the Board stating they have outgrown their current space in the courthouse. Possible locations to allow the Probation Office additional space were considered; Approved Resolution #2021-066 transferring $2,687.32 from the 911 Wireless Service Fund to the General Fund, correcting gross wages; Approved Resolution #2021-067 transferring $5,362.00 from the General Fund to the Aging Services Fund as proposed in the 2021-2022 budget; Approved Resolution #2021-068 transferring $32,633.00 from the General Fund to the Bailiff Fund as proposed in the 2021-2022 budget; Approved Resolution #2021-069 transferring $31,216.00 from the General Fund to the Employee Wellness Fund as proposed in the 2021-2022 budget; Approved Resolution #2021-070 to transfer 29.34% of the 2021 taxes collected from the General Fund to the Road Fund; Approved Resolution #2021-071 transferring $4,005.00 from the General Fund to the Adult Drug Court Fund as proposed by the 2021-2022 budget; Approved Resolution #2021-072 transferring $325,000.00 from the Inheritance Fund to the General Fund; Heard updates on various road projects; Heard a report from Berggren Architects on unresolved warranty work on the new addition; At 11:08 a.m. the Board recessed; At 11:22 a.m. the Board reconvened; Approved the claims as submitted; In closed session the Board discussed a personnel issue and possible litigation with no action taken; There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 11:54 a.m. The next regular meeting will be on October 12, 2021, at 9:30 a.m. in the Saline County Commissioners’ Room, Court House, Wilber, NE.
