This is a synopsis of the Saline County Board of Commissioners’ July 20, 2021, regular meeting proceedings. A complete set of the proceedings along with an approved list of claims is on file in the Board of Commissioners’ Journal, is of public record in the Saline County Clerk’s office and on our website: www.co.saline.ne.us SALINE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS The regular meeting of the Saline County Board of Commissioners was called to order at 9:32 a.m. on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, by Chairperson Russ Karpisek. Present were Karpisek, Janet J. Henning, Philip Hardenburger and Stephanie A. Krivohlavek, County Clerk Anita K. Bartels. County Attorney Tad Eickman was present between court commitments. Commissioner Marvin A. Kohout was absent. Notice of said meeting was posted in the County Clerk’s Office, on the Saline County Website, and published in all three county newspapers on July 14, 2021, in compliance with State Statutes; Let the record show that all proceedings are electronically recorded; Approved the Agenda with the deletion of item regarding 1% restricted funds; Approved the minutes of the July 6, 2021, regular meeting; Under Correspondence heard reposts of receiving the July 26th minutes of the Saline County Historical Society meeting, July 20th meeting agendas for the City of Crete City Council, Public Safety, Public Works, Finance, Legislative Development and Parks & Recreation committees; and a call from Brad Swiggart. Under Report of Officials, heard reports of meetings with the Ag Society and a constituent property inspection. It was also reported positive forward movement by the Wellness Administrator. Approved the Semi-Annual Statement ending June 30, 2021, from the Treasurer. Approved the June 2021 Clerk fees in the amount of $23,883.00. Approved the June 2021 Sheriff fees in the amount of $3,152.97. Approve Resolution #2021-046 transferring $2,500.00 from the Inheritance Fund to the Juvenile Services Aid Program Fund, to be reimbursed when funds become available. Approved a Windstream to occupy a right of way at County Road 2500. Discuss the sale of a strip of property in Crete, which requires advertising and a public hearing. At 10:18 a.m. the Board recessed. At 10:30 a.m. the Board reconvened. Jerad Reimers, Community Liaison for Congressman Adrian Smith joined the meeting via teleconference, giving an update on the legislative and committees Smith is working with. Discussion was held regarding the disbursement of ARPA funds, noting there are still no U.S. Treasury confirmed guidelines. Claims were approved with the addition of a mileage claim in the amount of $325.92. There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 10:47 a.m. The next regular meeting will be on August 3, 2021, at 9:30 a.m. in the Saline County Commissioners’ Room, Court House, Wilber, NE.
