Robert Duane “Bob”Paulsen was born April 1, 1935, to Carl and Velma (Noler) Paulsen in Beaver Crossing. He passed away peacefully in his home Nov. 3, 2022, surrounded by his family.

He attended country school and Beaver Crossing High School, graduating with the Class of 1952. Bob and Rose Shutts were married May 27, 1954. The couple was blessed with three children, Sheryl Ann, Douglas Duane and David Allen. They made their home in Friend, where Bob worked for Geesen’s Cleaners. For many years, he worked as a truck driver for Diamond Freightways, Graves Truck Line, ANR and ABF. Dedicated to his family and the Friend community, he was a member of Local Teamsters Union #554 (retired), Friend Jaycees, Friend Fire Department, Friend Masonic Lodge and was a charter member of the Friend Country Club. Bob loved outdoor sports. He was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman. He was also an enthusiastic Husker fan, especially football and volleyball.

Survivors include his wife, Rose; daughter, Sherry (Bob) McKeeman, Friend; sons, Doug (Shannon) Paulsen, Friend, and Dave Paulsen of Swanton; grandchildren, Jennifer (Scott) Speer, Bobby McKeeman and special friend, Jenna Peters, Eric (Wendy) McKeeman, Gabrial (April) Paulsen, Ginger (Dustin) Franke, Megan (Thad) Weber, Erica (Ben) Goldstrom and Mallory (Brian) Miller; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth (Joyce) Paulsen; sisters, Joanne Baack and Carol Sell; sisters-in-law, Frances Potter, Mary (Larry) Michl and Judy Shutts. He is preceded in death by his parents; one great-grandson; sister, Nora Lea Stutzman; and brother, Carl Dale. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at a later date.
