Edna Cora Eigsti, age 93, of Friend, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021, at Yankee Hill Village in Lincoln.

She was born May 2, 1927, in Rolette, North Dakota, to George and Margit (Aarnes) Peterson. Edna graduated from high school in Rolette and afterwards furthered her education by attending North Central Bible College in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She held jobs with the telephone company and the veterans administration offices in Minneapolis and Denver, Colorado. Edna was married to Earl R. Eigsti on March 3, 1956, in Friend and to this union, three sons, Brent, Bruce and Brad were born. Edna was a homemaker and together she and Earl farmed in the Friend and Milford area until Earl’s retirement in 1992. After retirement, they enjoyed spending winters in Sun City, Arizona. Edna was a long-time member of the Friend Christian Assembly Church and the ladies ministry of the church. She also assisted with the church’s bookkeeping. Edna was talented at handiwork and enjoyed crocheting for family and friends. 

Edna was the beloved mother of sons, Brent, Sun City, Bruce and Becky, Brad and Kelly, all of Lincoln; cherished grandmother to Caleb and Hannah and Cameron and Alex; sisters-in-law, Ethel Lausen and Caroline Eigsti; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl in 2014; brothers, Richard and Lloyd; and sisters, Alice, Myrtle, Florence, Signe, Ella and Ellen.

A visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 28, from 1 to 8 p.m. at Lauber Funeral Home, Friend. A graveside celebration of life will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, at Andrew Cemetery, Friend, with Pastor Eric Black officiating.
